Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betreiben einer Offenend-Rotorspinneinrichtung (1) mit einem austauschbaren, einzelmotorisch angetriebenen Spinnrotor (2). Erfindungsgemäß wird der Spinnrotor (2) von einer ersten Drehzahl (n 1 ) auf eine zweite Drehzahl (n 2 ) beschleunigt und die für die Beschleunigung von der ersten Drehzahl (n 1 ) auf die zweite Drehzahl (n 2 ) benötigte Beschleunigungszeit (t A , t B ) wird erfasst und als Auswertegröße ausgewertet oder der Spinnrotor (2) wird von einer ersten Drehzahl (n 1 ) für eine vorgegebene Beschleunigungszeit (t A , t B ) beschleunigt und die in dieser Zeit erreichte zweite Drehzahl (n 2 ) erfasst und als Auswertegröße ausgewertet. Die Erfindung betrifft ferner die Offenend-Rotorspinneinrichtung (1).
