Installation de transport par câble, comprenant - au moins un câble porteur (11) supporté par des sabots d'appui (18) prévus dans les gares d'extrémités (12, 13), - et des moyens de repositionnement du câble porteur (11) pour renouveler périodiquement la surface directement en contact avec les sabots d'appui (18), caractérisée en ce que les moyens de repositionnement du câble porteur (11) sont configurés pour faire tourner ledit câble porteur sur lui-même en modifiant angulairement la zone de contact en fonction du profil de la gorge de logement (21) des sabots d'appui (18). Applications : téléphériques, téléporteurs automoteurs.
