Abstract (en)

There is described a device for removing a metal strap from a sheet coil comprising breaking means of the strap designed to allow the strap to be removed from the sheet. The breaking means are a heating element designed to be positioned at, but at a distance from, a part of the strap to heat it so as to allow breakage of the strap and removal from the sheet coil. The heating element is movable relative to the strap and is carried by a heating head that is associated with a support apparatus. The removing device is provided with movement and adjustment means interposed between the heating head and the support apparatus to carry out the movement of the heating head relative to the support apparatus along at least two spatial axes orthogonal to one another. The movement and adjustment means are designed to allow tilting in vertical direction and rotation by a predefined angle of the heating head.
