[origin: WO2017001037A1] The invention relates to a method for stabilizing a subgrade (19) that has been exposed after a track and ballast have been removed, wherein, in a first work pass, in a work segment (20) adjoining a rear tracked chassis with respect to a working direction (4), in parallel with the removal of the ballast (9), a loosening of the subgrade (19), an introduction of additives (30), and a leveling occur. In a second work pass, the subgrade (19) mixed with additives is throughly mixed by being picked up by means of an excavating chain (8) and by being transported further to a throw-off point (24) behind the rear tracked chassis (6) and is thrown off back onto the exposed subgrade (19), whereupon a restoration layer (26) is formed by leveling and compacting the thrown-off subgrade.
