Eine Vorrichtung zum Fördern einer Materialbahn (12) der Tabak verarbeitenden Industrie umfasst eine Walze (25) und eine auf die Materialbahn (12) einwirkende Verstelleinrichtung (29), wobei durch Verstellen der Verstelleinrichtung (29) die Umschlingungslänge der Materialbahn (12) an der Walze (25) veränderbar ist. Die Verstelleinrichtung (29) ist mittels eines Servoantriebs (38) verstellbar. Vorteilhaft ist eine Längenausgleichseinrichtung (40) zum Ausgleich einer durch die Verstelleinrichtung (29) hervorgerufenen Längenänderung der Materialbahn (12) vorgesehen.
