[origin: EP3318692A1] A method for manufacturing a staircase, in which first of all plate material is provided. This plate material has been formed by planing, ripping and/or gluing together wood or MDF to form a plate-shaped core of a defined thickness. Next, the plate-shaped core is covered on two sides with HPL. In a next step, by sawing, staircase component boards are manufactured. From these staircase component boards, with the aid of a CNC machining station, treads and stringers can be manufactured that are ready for assembly. After machining of the staircase component boards with the aid of the CNC machining station, and preferably prior to the assembly of the treads in the stringers, the machined faces of the strings that are exposed and/or visible after assembly of the staircase are covered with HPL or ABS laminate. Further, a staircase manufactured with the method is provided.
