Abstract (en)
[origin: GB2540277A] An ingress protection (IP) rated lens 10 for a luminaire comprises a first region 11 through which light from luminaire is emitted and a second region 12-14 which is resiliently deformable. This allows the light source in the luminaire to move with respect to the plane of the front of the luminaire, whilst retaining IP protection when the light source is out of the normal plane. The first and second regions may be made of the same or different materials. The first region may comprise an optical lens (31, Fig. 6) capable of focusing light from a light source and in this case the lens may replace a conventional lens used to focus light from an LED module.
