[origin: WO2017042151A1] The invention relates to a fiber-optic accelerometer (10) comprising: - an optical fiber (11, 35, 50) having a free end, said free end being caused to oscillate under the influence of acceleration; - a light source for emitting visible, ultraviolet or infrared light into the optical fiber (11, 35, 50) at an end of the fiber (11, 35, 50) opposite the free end; - a mirror (14, 24, 45), which is arranged to reflect part of the light exiting the free end back into the optical fiber (11, 35, 50); and - a detection device for capturing reflected light at the end of the fiber (11, 35, 50) opposite the free end, the core of the optical fiber (11, 35, 50) having a Bragg grating in the free end.
