[origin: US2018148886A1] A method for energizing an induction heater of a laundry dryer includes energizing the induction heater to heat a drum of the laundry dryer; interrupting the energization of the induction heater for a time interval, allowing an oscillator circuit of the induction heater to freely oscillate; measuring a resonant frequency of the oscillator circuit during the time interval; and determining a temperature of the drum based on the measured resonant frequency.
