[origin: WO2017025671A1] The invention relates to a hair styling appliance (1) for curling hair, comprising a gripping handle defined along a first axis X1 and a housing (2) having a winding chamber (8) defining a second axis (X2), an introduction slot (7) and an extraction opening (9). These two axes (X1, X2) form a plane (P). A barrel (10) has a fixed end (10a) and a free end (10b) disposed close to the extraction opening and extends in the winding chamber along a third axis (X3) defined in the plane (P). The third axis (X3) is inclined at an angle (α) with respect to the first axis (X1) such that the free end is farther away from the gripping handle than the fixed end. The appliance comprises a hollow winder (11) arranged at a first spacing (12) around the barrel, coaxially with said barrel. The winder is mounted so as to rotate about the third axis and is configured to successively grasp the proximal end of the lock, concomitantly wind the lock about the barrel and said winder, and then completely wind said lock around said barrel, as it rotates.
