Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2017021402A1] The invention relates to a machine for automatically slicing a loaf of bread (4), including: a loading compartment (1) and a receiving compartment (2); a cutting device (6) making it possible to cut slices from the loaf of bread (4); a supporting surface (3) for the loaf of bread (4); a slot (5) provided in the supporting surface (3) between the compartments (1, 2) through which the cutting device (6) can move following a to-and-fro movement in order to cut slices from the loaf of bread (4); and at least one mobile closing member (11, 12, 18) making it possible to close the free portion of the slot (5) as the cutting device (6, 7) moves forward. The surface of the closing member (11, 12, 18) is convex in the direction of movement of the loaf of bread (4) and on the side of the aforementioned compartments (1, 2) so that the loaf of bread (4) can slide over said convex surface during the movement thereof between the compartments.
