[origin: WO2017025226A1] The invention relates to a method for operating a driver assistance system of a vehicle (100). In the method, first a recognition signal (104) is read in, which represents a traffic scenario (102, 104) detected by means of a surroundings read-in device (106) of the vehicle (100). In a further step, at least one detection algorithm of the driver assistance system using the recognition signal (104) is activated. Finally, at least one object (112, 113, 114, 116, 117) of an object type allocated to the traffic scenario (102, 104) is detected using the detection algorithm in order to locate the vehicle (100) in the traffic scenario (102, 104).
