[origin: US2018155074A1] A tray sealer including a sealing station comprising a tool upper part, a clamping frame and a tool lower part. The tool upper part may surround a dome-shaped die used for deforming a skinnable top film. First and second channels in the dome-shaped die and in the tool upper part, respectively, are connectable to one another. The tool upper part or the dome-shaped die may comprise at least a third channel communicating with a vacuum generator so as to generate a thermal air convection from the first channel to the third channel along a side of the top film facing the dome-shaped die.

Eine Schalenverschließmaschine (1) umfasst eine Siegelstation (2) mit einem Werkzeugoberteil (7), einem Klemmrahmen (13) und einem Werkzeugunterteil (6). Das Werkzeugoberteil (7) umgibt ein Domwerkzeug (15) zum Verformen einer skinfähigen Oberfolie (3). Erste und zweite Kanäle (19, 20) im Domwerkzeug (15) bzw. im Werkzeugoberteil (7) sind in Verbindung miteinander bringbar. Das Werkzeugoberteil (7) oder das Domwerkzeug (15) weist wenigsten einen dritten Kanal (29) in Verbindung mit einem Unterdruckerzeuger (31) auf, um eine thermische Luftkonvektion (K) vom ersten zum dritten Kanal (19, 29) entlang einer dem Domwerkzeug (15) zugewandten Seite (32) der Oberfolie (3) zu erzeugen.
