Abstract (en)

[origin: EP3333530A1] Disclosed are a parallel heat-pipes type heat sink and its manufacturing method. The heat sink includes a base (1) and plural heat pipes (2). The base (1) has a bottom surface (10), plural parallel heated areas (100) concavely formed on the bottom surface (10), a protrusion (101) disposed between any two heated areas (100) and protruding in a direction towards the bottom surface (10), and at least one notch (102) formed on each protrusion (101). A first top portion (103) and a second top portion (104) are formed at the top of the protrusion (101) and the top of notch (102) respectively. The heat pipes (2) are embedded into the heated areas (100) respectively in the lengthwise direction, and the heat pipes (2) at the notches (102) of the protrusions (101) are attached and contacted with each other. The notch (102) of each heat pipe (2) may be compressed and deformed, so that the heat pipes are contacted with each other to provide good thermal conduction and bonding strength.
