The steam iron (4) comprises a body (11) in thermal contact with an ironing surface (14) and a steam distribution circuit (16) in the body (11); the steam distribution circuit (16) comprises a steam flow inlet (16.1) leading into a steam inlet chamber (34) and at least one steam outlet hole (15) provided on the ironing surface (14). The product is characterized in that the steam inlet chamber (34) comprises a dividing wall (41) dividing the inlet chamber (34) into a lower stage (34.1) formed below a partition wall (41) and an upper stage (34.2) arranged above the separation wall (41), and the steam flow inlet (16.1) flows successively in the lower stage (34.1) and in the upper stage (34.2).

Fer à vapeur (4) comportant un corps (11) en contact thermique avec une surface de repassage (14) et un circuit de distribution de vapeur (16) ménagé dans ledit corps (11), le circuit de distribution de vapeur (16) comprenant une entrée de flux de vapeur (16.1) débouchant dans une chambre d'admission (34) de la vapeur et au moins un trou de sortie de vapeur (15) ménagé sur la surface de repassage (14), caractérisé en ce que ladite chambre d'admission (34) comporte une paroi de séparation (41) divisant la chambre d'admission (34) en un étage inférieur (34.1) ménagé en-dessous de la paroi de séparation (41) et un étage supérieur (34.2) ménagé au-dessus de la paroi de séparation (41), la vapeur issue de l'entrée de flux de vapeur (16.1) circulant successivement dans l'étage inférieur (34.1) puis dans l'étage supérieur (34.2).
