[origin: WO2018114709A1] The invention relates to a centrifugal pump which has at least one pump stage comprising a rotatable impeller (5) having a suction port (6) which is sealed off from a fixed pump part (1) by means of a sealing arrangement, wherein the sealing arrangement has a sealing ring (9) between the impeller (5) and the fixed pump part (1). The sealing arrangement is designed such that, at least during the conveying operation of the pump, it has sealing sections which, when viewed in the peripheral direction of the sealing ring (9), are alternately and successively at a distance from the counter sealing surface and resting on the counter sealing surface.
