[origin: WO2017045828A1] The invention relates to a remotely operatable weapon station (1) with a weapon (2) mounted in a carriage (3) such that it can be directed in azimuth (A) and elevation (E) for combating a target object. The weapon station (1) comprises at least one drive (4) controllable by a control signal (S, V) for aligning the weapon (2) in azimuth (A) and/or elevation (E), and a control unit (5) for providing the control signal (S, V), wherein the control unit (5) is designed to vary the provided control signal (S) for controlling the weapon (2) for firing a sequence of projectiles in such a way that the fired projectiles of the sequence depict a predetermined projectile pattern (GM) perpendicular to the flight path of the fired projectiles.
