In dem Deckelelement (4) ist ein Faserspeisekanal (8) und ein Fadenabzugskanal (9) angeordnet. Die Schwenkeinrichtung (6) und die Verriegelungseinrichtung (7) sind miteinander verbunden. Bei einem Verfahren zum Betreiben einer Offenend-Rotorspinnvorrichtung (1), die einen während des Spinnbetriebes in einem Rotorgehäuse (2) umlaufenden Spinnrotor (3) aufweist, wird das Rotorgehäuse (2) mit einem Deckelelement (4) geschlossen oder geöffnet. Das Deckelelement (4) wird zum Öffnen oder Schließen des Rotorgehäuses (2) mit einer Schwenkeinrichtung (6) verschwenkt und zum Verriegeln des Deckelelementes (4) mit einer Verriegelungseinrichtung (7) verriegelt.
