The control device is configured to activate the variable-speed pump to operate at a nominal pumping speed during a first period of time, to pump the washing liquid from the alkali liquor container through the conduit at a nominal volume flow. The control device is configured to reduce the nominal pumping speed of the variable-speed pump to a minimum pumping speed during a second period of time when the volume flow rate of the washing liquid pumpedby the variable-speed pump falls below a volume flow minimum threshold. The control device is configured to increase the minimum pumping speed of the variable-speed pump to a maximum pump speed during a third time period when the volume flow rate of the washing liquid pumped by the variable-speed pump reaches the volume flow minimum threshold. The control device is configured to reduce the maximum pumping speed of the variable-speed pump to the nominal pumping speed during a fourth period of time when the volume flow rate of the washing liquid pumped by the variable-speed pump reaches the nominal volume flow rate.
