[origin: WO2017050700A1] A method (100) for determining a biomass of a plant comprises three steps (102,104,106), namely those of determining an X-ray image of the plant, of determining an absorption characteristic of the plant in the X-ray image, and of determining the biomass of the plant on the basis of the absorption characteristic of the plant. The determination is based on a predetermined relation between a reference absorption characteristic and a reference biomass.
