[origin: CN108360163A] Disclosed are a method for generating a seam beginning top thread of a seam and a sewing machine for performing the method. When the seam beginning top thread to be formed in fabric is manufactured inorder to obtain a limited nominal excessive thread length, the sewing machine operates the following steps: in the first step, providing a limited thread amount in a top thread trajectory between anactuating top thread clip (28) and a sewing needle (8) in order to sew a thread-cutting stitch used for a top thread cutting process; in subsequent steps, the thread clip (28) is closed in order to prevent any additional top thread (9) from being pulled out of a thread supply device after the thread clip (28) is closed; now, sewing the thread-cutting stitch by utilizing the thread amount providedby a limited manner; and then, cutting the thread (9) with a top thread cutter. Accordingly, a reproduceable seam beginning top thread can be obtained. The sewing machine equipped with the method canhave a displaceable limit stopper. A thread supply unit (24) and the displaceable limit stopper interact with each other in order to set the to-be-provided thread amount.
