Abstract (en)
[origin: GB2543053A] A security document 10 comprising a security sheet 11 formed from a plastic substrate (20, figure 3) and an adjacent page 16 of fibrous substrate 15, which are connected by a hinge 14. The security sheet is for displaying personal data. The adjacent page comprises a first security device 75 having at least one exposed region 18 at the surface 19. The security sheet comprises a second security device 76, which is located at least partially in at least one window 27 of the plastic substrate, and it may be a filter or lens. The first and second security element may also be a thread; the thread may have a fusing and a tactile layer for soft touch. When the security sheet and adjacent page are arranged to overlie one another the first and second security devices are visible in the at least one window when the security sheet is viewed in reflected light. The present invention is further directed to a plurality of such security documents and a method of manufacturing the security document. The method comprising embedding the security elements into a plurality of layers by applying heat and pressure (figure 8).
