[origin: WO2017072051A1] The invention relates to a method for operating at least two lifting means (1a, 1b) in a group operation, wherein each lifting means has a hoist via which a respective load-receiving means can be raised by a lifting process or lowered by a lowering process, in which group operation, in a synchronous operating type, first a common lifting process is carried out via the at least two hoists (see hoist motors 6a, 6b), in order to move a load secured to the load-receiving means, after which common lifting process, for a shifting from the synchronous operation into an individual operation or a multi-operation, at least one of the hoists (see hoist motors 6a, 6b) involved in the common lifting process is deactivated, and at least one of the involved hoists (see hoist motors 6a, 6b) remains activated, such that only each activated hoist can carry out a lifting process or lowering process relative to each deactivated hoist. In order to provide a method for operating at least two lifting means (1a, 1b) in a group operation, which is particularly safe, according to the invention, even after the shift from the synchronous operation to the individual operation or the multi-operation, a load value is determined for each hoist previously involved in the common lifting process of the synchronous operation, in particular each deactivated hoist, which load value corresponds to a partial load acting on the hoist, and which load value is compared to a respective permissible threshold value.
