Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2017076905A1] The invention relates to a method for the production of a metal strip (1), in which the metal strip (1) is ground in a plurality of passes at least on one side on substantially the entire surface. During a final grinding passage, the metal strip (1) is ground with an aged or worn grinding medium (4, 8, 12). The invention further relates to a device for the production of a metal strip (1), comprising two rollers (2, 3) or two reels (13, 14) for holding and moving the metal strip (1), as well as to a grinding device (4 8, 12). Furthermore, the device comprises means for determining an age or wear (A) of a grinding medium (4, 8, 12) and for outputting an alarm when, during a final grinding passage, a grinding medium (4, 8, 12) does not correspond to a predetermined age or predetermined wear (A).
