[origin: WO2017077023A1] The invention relates to a switching system (1') having a switching element (3) which can be changed over between two switching positions and having an evaluation unit (2') for determining the switching position and/or the identification of the switching element (3). In particular, an associated function can be switched and/or initiated by means of the switching element (3). In the switching system (1'), an RFID tag (6) operatively connected to the switching element (3) is provided. The evaluation unit (2') has a transmitter and/or receiver (7) for electromagnetic waves (8), wherein the transmitter and/or receiver (7) interact(s) with the RFID tag (6) in order to determine the switching position and/or the identification of the switching element (3).
