[origin: WO2018166969A1] The invention relates to a pump assembly with an electric drive motor, at least one impeller (14) which is rotated by the electric drive motor, and a controller (17) which actuates the drive motor. The controller (17) is designed to selectively actuate the drive motor in at least one first or second operating mode. In the first operating mode, the drive motor is controlled by the controller (17) such that a rotor (6) of the drive motor is continuously rotated, and in the second operating mode, the drive motor is controlled by the controller (17) such that the rotor (6) of the drive motor is moved incrementally in selected angular steps of preferably less than 360°.
