[origin: EP3379704A1] A coil forming device (50) includes: a plurality of forming dies (1S to 4S) rotatable about a center of a curvature of an inner peripheral surface thereof as an axis (P) of a rotation shaft; a plurality of clamping dies (1C to 4C) rotatable about a center of a curvature of an inner peripheral surface thereof as the axis (P) of the rotation shaft; a drive mechanism (52) configured to rotationally drive the forming dies and the clamping dies; and a driving direction change mechanism (51) configured to change rotation directions of the forming dies (1S to 4S) and the clamping dies (1C to 4C). Each pair of the forming die and the clamping die holding a straight portion (61a1 to 61b2) of a plane-bent intermediate coil (6) from both sides in the circumferential direction have equal widths in the radial direction of the coil forming device (50), and the forming dies and the clamping dies holding a plurality of the straight portions (61a1 to 61b2) disposed from an inner peripheral side of the coil forming device (50) toward an outer peripheral side of the coil forming device (50) are disposed alternately in the circumferential direction with the straight portions (61a1 to 61b2) interposed therebetween.
