[origin: WO2017088894A1] The invention relates to a device and to a method for ejecting at least one capsule (1, 1', 1") from a capsule holder (2), wherein the capsule (2) has at least two capsule receptacles (3) for each capsule (1, 1', 1"), wherein the device comprises at least two ejectors (4) for ejecting a respective capsule (1, 1', 1") from the respective associated capsule receptacle (3), and wherein the device comprises a drive unit (6) for actuating the ejectors (4) independently of one another in an ejection direction (7) and in an opposing retrieval direction (8). The drive unit (6) comprises for each ejector (4) a pneumatic actuating cylinder (14) which can be actuated individually and a limiter element (9) which is provided jointly for a plurality of and in particular for all ejectors (4) and has a cyclical lifting drive (20). Each of the ejectors (4) is associated with a stop (17) acting in the retrieval direction (8) for the limiter element (9). Depending upon whether an individual capsule (1, 1', 1") has been identified as good or or poor, the piston rod (15) of the respective associated actuating cylinder (14) is extended in the ejection direction (7) in such a way that the associated stop (17) comes to rest on the limiter element (9) and thereby limits the movement of the ejector (4) in the ejection direction (7). By means of the movement of the ejector (4) limited by the limiter element (9) in the ejection direction (7), the ejector (4) ejects the associated capsule (1', 1") from the capsule receptacle (3) of the asociated capsule (1', 1").
