Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2017092840A1] A tamping machine for tamping a track comprises a lifting-leveling unit (13) connected to lifting and leveling mechanisms (14, 15) for moving the track into a desired position. A vibration generator (24) that can be made to vibrate is arranged on the lifting-leveling unit (13). This allows a track section to be tamped in a first process and be lowered in a controlled manner immediately thereafter in a second process while continuously applying a load and vibrations. The track can then be used again unimpeded and at the normal speed.
