The supporting device (10) comprises a scaffold pole (11) having a welded-on sheet metal structure which forms a connection head (12) and which serves as a receptacle for a threaded bar part (53) of a threaded bar (13) having a height-adjustment nut (14) screwed thereon. The height of the scaffold pole (11) can be changed using the height-adjustment nut (14) even still with the hanging scaffold (35) suspended or with another hanging structure suspended, that is to say retroactively.
