[origin: WO2017133977A1] The invention relates to a device for cutting food products, in particular a high performance slicer, having a working area consisting of a cutting area and a transport area provided with a product conveying system. Said product conveying system conveys the products to be cut to the cutting area on one or more tracks and at the end of the cutting area, a cutting blade moves, in particular, rotatingly and/or in a circular manner, in the cutting plane. Said device comprises a contact-free sensing device for detecting at least one part of the outer contour of the product to be cut. The scanning device for detecting the contours comprises at least one compact sensor arranged in the working area.
