[origin: WO2017102415A1] A control method for a drilling portable power tool for machining a substrate by means of a drill bit 4 has the steps of: superimposing periodic percussion on the drill bit 4 with a percussion rate, and rotation of the tool holder 2 at a rotational speed in a direction of rotation; determining a material of the substrate to be machined by the drill 4; and setting the rotational speed on the basis of the material determined, wherein, in the case of an iron-based material, the rotational speed is set to a first value and a first direction of rotation, in the case of a mineral material, the rotational speed is set to a second value and a second direction of rotation, and wherein the first value is lower than the second value or the first direction of rotation is anticlockwise and the second direction of rotation is clockwise.
