[origin: WO2017103513A1] The invention concerns a device for manoeuvring and storing a rope, in particular a ship hawser. Said device comprises a vertical drum (2) engaging with means (3) for rotating same. Said vertical drum (2) comprises a tubular body (21) that comprises two opposing surfaces: - an outer surface (211), around which said rope is capable of being wound, and - an inner surface (212), delimiting at least a lower portion (51) of a vertical passage (5). Said vertical passage (5) comprises two opposing ends: - a lower end (511) provided with a through-opening that extends through said tubular body (21), and - an upper end (522) associated with a system (4) for storing said rope and for manoeuvring said rope in translation along said vertical passage (5).
