[origin: WO2017109120A1] The invention relates to a method for producing a security document (1), comprising the following steps: providing substrate layers (2, 3, 4, 5), wherein at least one of the substrate layers (3) is of polycarbonate, providing a lamination plate (8.1, 8.2) with an embossing stamp (9), wherein the embossing stamp (9) has a relief-like microstructuring (10), laminating the substrate layers (2, 3, 4, 5), wherein the lamination plate (8.1) is arranged with the embossing stamp (10) on an outer upper side (12) of the at least one substrate layer (3) of polycarbonate in such a way that during the lamination the relief-like microstructuring (10) of the embossing stamp (9) is transferred onto the substrate layer (3) of polycarbonate and a document body (11) is formed by the lamination, and wherein the embossing stamp (9) is provided in such a way that the embossed relief-like microstructuring (14) is formed at least in one region as a diffraction grating (36) for inducing a diffraction effect (16, 30).
