[origin: WO2017108623A1] The invention relates to a method for applying security features (8) to an adhesive tape (1), in which the security features (8) are introduced into a transfer layer (7) and the transfer layer (7) is applied onto a carrier film (6) for forming a transfer tape (9). An outer side of the transfer layer (7) is pressed onto a winding level (5) of a roll of adhesive tape (4) of the adhesive tape (1), and the transfer layer (7) is firmly adhered to the winding level (5) and the carrier film (6) is drawn off from the transfer layer (7). The transfer layer (7) detaches from the carrier film (6) and, together with said layer, the security features (8) remain on a side edge (11) of the adhesive tape.
