[origin: WO2017109155A1] The invention relates to a scanning device (10) for scanning an object (122) for use in a scanning microscope (100) comprising at least one scanning unit (12) for two-dimensionally scanning the object (122) by means of a light beam (104) and at least one rotation device (14) for rotating the scanning unit (12) about an axis of rotation (16) in order to produce an image field rotation. The scanning unit (12) comprises at least one deflecting element (18) for deflecting a light beam (110) that hits the deflecting element (18). Furthermore, the deflecting element (18) has a rotationally symmetric shape.
