Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2017114825A1] The invention relates to a wound dressing (1) for treating wounds in particular in moist or wet environments, comprising a wound pad (2). The wound pad (2) can be supplied with a salt-containing aqueous solution, in particular a Ringer's solution, by the manufacturer. The wound pad (2) is provided by the manufacturer for dispensing to the user in a non-folded configuration which forms a plane. The wound dressing is characterized in that an edge-side adhesive coating (32) is provided on a layer (34) which protrudes beyond the wound pad (2) in a circumferential direction (30) about the wound pad (2). The edge-side adhesive coating (32) continuously surrounds the wound pad (2) in the circumferential direction (30), and regions (36), which have the edge-side adhesive coating (32), of the layer (34) which protrudes beyond the wound pad (2) are folded onto the wound pad side facing the wound by the manufacture for dispensing to the user by folding about at least four folding lines (46, 62, 68) such that the folding lines (46, 62, 68) surround the wound pad (2) in the circumferential direction (30). The folded regions (36) are overlaid with at least one removable protective layer (48, 64, 70) by the manufacturer, said protective layer extending parallel to the plane.
