[origin: CA3010420A1] The invention relates to a forming tool (1) for forming a metal sheet (2), comprising a first tool part (3) which comprises a tool upper part (5), a die (6) and a blank holder (7) which rests against the tool upper part (5) by means of first pressure means (8), also comprising a second tool part (4) comprising a tool lower part (9), a stamp (10) interacting with the die (6) for forming the metal sheet (2) and a sheet holder (11) which rests against the tool lower part (9) by means of second pressure means (12), further comprising a locking device (13) which is provided between the sheet holder (11) and the blank holder (7) and which comprises a spacer (14) which is moveably mounted in accordance with a relative movement produced when closing the forming tool (1) from a rest position (15) into a working position (16), and which defines the distance between the sheet holder (11) and the blank holder (7) when opening the forming tool (1). According to the invention, in order to provide a particularly reliable forming tool (1), the locking device (13) comprises a wedge drive (17) with a slide (18) and a drive (19), the slide (18) comprising the spacer (14) is moveably mounted when in contact with the drive (19) in accordance with a relative movement produced between the sheet holder (11) and a tool upper part (5) when closing the forming tool (1), for moving the spacer (14) into its working position (16).
