[origin: WO2017114958A1] The invention relates to a method for processing a multimedia stream, in particular to verify access rights to content of said multimedia stream, the multimedia stream being supplied by a server device connected to a communications network, and downloadable by a client device by means of data formatted in a markup language, by using software for browsing and displaying data formatted in a markup language, interacting with software for playing a multimedia stream, the multimedia stream including at least one video stream displayable as pixels on a display area (42, 44, 46, 48) of a display screen of the client device. The method comprises determining a display area (42), assigned by said browsing and display software to the multimedia stream player software to display a video stream extracted from said multimedia stream, and recording at least one digital image consisting of the values of the pixels to be displayed in the display area (42) determined at a given time.
