Abstract (en)

Button shank feed apparatus and method of using the apparatus are provided for use with button shank wrapping apparatus. The button shank feed apparatus includes support means for supporting at least one button shank in use. Initiation means are provided for initiating a button shank wrapping process to be undertaken by button shank wrapping apparatus provided with or associatable with the feed apparatus in use. Outlet means are provided for allowing the wrapped button shank to be released from the feed apparatus following completion of a button shank wrapping process in use. The initiation means are arranged such that they are movable automatically from a resting or non-operational position to an operational position on contact with a button shank therewith in use or on detection of at least one button shank in or with the support means in use.
