[origin: WO2017125956A1] A method and apparatus for the purification of ballast water through ozonation for ships provides to insert in the ballast water system of ships mixing members that permit the mixing of ballast water with a process water which is sea water, preferably drawn from the cooling water of the engine room, ozonized through the injection of ozone gas and added with hydrogen peroxide. The method and the apparatus of the invention greatly improve the effectiveness of the ozonation treatment of ballast water by eliminating the risk of having not solubilized gaseous ozone in ballast water.
