Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2017157499A2] The invention relates to a silencer for a firearm, in particular a repeater, an automatic or semi-automatic firearm, a single- or multi-loading firearm, or similar, the silencer comprising: an outer tube delimiting a hollow body of the silencer; an inner tube, arranged in the hollow body, said inner tube radially delimiting a projectile channel in the interior and bearing at least one sound-reflection and/or sound-absorption element, such as a sound baffle plate with through-passages for the projectiles, wherein the outer tube and the inner tube delimit an annular chamber, in which optionally a sound-absorbent filler and/or a sound-absorbent cladding are provided; a front face facing the firearm and having a projectile-entry opening; and an end face wall facing away from the firearm and having a projectile-exit opening, wherein at least one exchange opening for a gas exchange between the projectile channel and the annular chamber is formed in the inner tube and in addition at least one vent opening is formed in the end face wall, particularly at the outer radius of the annular chamber. The annular chamber permits gas communication between the at least one exchange opening and the at least one vent opening.
