Abstract (en)
[origin: GB2545036A] The luggage 10 has a frame 15 formed of two rectangular ends 17, 19 joined at each corner by rods 36, 38. The rods 36, 38 define the edges of the frame 15. A handle 13 extends out of and collapses into a portion of the frame 15. A shell 16 is formed around at least a portion of the frame 15 so as to form a packing compartment (34, figure 3). The rods 36 have a higher flexural strength than the rods 38 where these pairs of rods 36, 38 are connected to diagonally opposite corners of the rectangular ends 17, 19. The rods 36 may be partially hollow and may have a greater diameter than the rods 38. All of the rods 36, 38 may be partially hollow with the rods 36 being made of a thicker material. The rods 36 may be made of a material of higher flexural strength than rods 38.
