[origin: CA3005432A1] The pressing device comprising at least one pressing unit, by means of which the pieces of wood can be conveyed. These pieces of wood are in contact at their end faces and are pressed against one another by the pressing units. At least one first chucking unit is situated upstream from the pressing unit, and at least one second chucking unit is situated downstream from the pressing unit. With the pressing equipment, it is possible to join the pieces of wood to form the strand of wood in a continuous operation. At high pressing forces, the pieces of wood are joined to form the strand of wood, wherein the chucking units absorb the required high pressing force.
