[origin: WO2017157833A1] The invention relates to a metal component having a friction-reducing surface coating, in particular also having a protective coating against mechanical damage; a method for applying a surface coating and for removing the surface coating in a later process step; and finally a device for carrying out the method. According to the invention, in order to reduce damage and energy losses occurring as a result of friction losses and friction damage during a processing process, a plasma generation module is to be provided via which selected surfaces of the metal component can be coated with an organic protective coating in the nanometre range.
