[origin: WO2017141134A1] Method of producing aluminium in an electrolytic cell using the Hall-Héroult electrolysis process, said method comprising the following steps: -dividing said cell into at least n subsystems, -for each subsystem, estimating the local value of at least one target or output parameter on the basis of the value of the measurement of at least one input parameter, -modifying at least one of said input parameters in the cell by exerting a physical action upon the cell, if at least one estimated value of said output parameter, for at least one subsystem, is substantially different from another estimated value of said output parameter for another subsystem.
