[origin: US2018360182A1] A folding lid (3) is provided in a suitcase (1) comprising a suitcase body (2) that is delimited by a back wall (4) and by side walls (5) that adjoin said back wall and are arranged on two opposing narrow and long sides (7, 8) of the suitcase body (2) in each case, which folding lid is formed on at least one side (7, 8) of the suitcase body (2). The lid (3) can be connected to the suitcase body (2) by means of a zip fastener (14). One side wall (5) of the suitcase body (5) comprises a recess (12) in which an overlapping segment (15) of the lid (3) engages such that the overlapping segment (15) forms the side wall (5) of the suitcase body (2) at least in part. The suitcase body (2) may comprise a limiting element (13) in the recess (12), by means of which element luggage contents is prevented from falling out of the suitcase (1).

Bei einem Koffer (1) mit einem Kofferkörper (2), der durch eine Rückwand (4) und sich an diese anschließende und an jeweils zwei gegenüberliegende Schmal- und Längsseiten (7, 8) des Kofferkörpers (2) angeordnete Seitenwände (5) begrenzt wird ist ein aufklappbarer Deckel (3) vorgesehen, der an mindestens einer Seite (7, 8) des Kofferkörpers (2) angeformt ist. Mithilfe eines Reißverschlusses (14) kann der Deckel (3) mit dem Kofferkörper (2) verbunden werden. Eine Seitenwand (5) des Kofferkörpers (2) weist eine Ausnehmung (12) auf, in die ein Übergreifsegment (15) des Deckels (3) eingreift, so dass das Übergreifsegment (15) zumindest teilweise die Seitenwand (5) des Kofferkörpers (2) bildet. Der Kofferkörper (2) kann in der Ausnehmung (12) ein Begrenzungselement (13) aufweisen, mit dem ein Herausfallen von Gepäckgut aus dem Koffer (1) verhindert wird.
