The seal (34) comprises a sealing means (60), which is arranged in a first groove (46), wherein the first groove (46) is arranged on one of the elements constituted by the cover (14) and the lower part (12), and the first groove (46), in relation to the axis of rotation (R) of the centrifuge rotor (10), is open axially toward the other of the elements constituted by the cover (14) and the lower part (12). The used seal (34) is effective and durable. In addition, said seal facilitates the opening and closing processes.
