[origin: WO2017144790A1] The invention primarily relates to a method for controlling the combustion in a combustion engine so as to protect same from abnormal combustion that causes vibrations in a cylinder referred to as "engine knocking", said vibrations having a frequency of between 600 Hz and 1200 Hz. The invention is characterized in that said method comprises a step of calculating a charge limitation (Lim ChE) of said combustion engine according to a level of fouling of a combustion chamber, said fouling being caused by oil rising in the combustion chamber, vaporizing, and auto-igniting, and a step of applying said charge limitation (Lim ChE) to the combustion engine.
