Abstract (en)

A protective headgear device (10) comprises a padded circumferential member (11) generally conforming to the shape of a user's head. The circumferential member includes a head section (14), a first side section (16A) depends from the head section and a second side section (16B) opposite the first side section also depends from the head section. A first recess (23A) is formed in the first side section and a second recess (23B) is formed in the second side section. First and second impact plates (26A, 26B) are disposed within the first and second recesses respectively.
